The Canadian Wake Surf Nationals, held July 31 – August 2, 2015, is the premier wake surfing event in Canada. Evolving from its inaugural year as the Calabogie Wake Surf Championship, it will once again be held at Calabogie Peaks Resort on Calabogie Lake, Ontario, Canada.
The Canadian Wake Surf Nationals is founded and directed by Steve Karam, an avid wake surfer and Partner at Systemscope, a leading consulting firm, headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that provides strategic direction and support to government departments engaging in business, service or information transformations. The Great Canadian Wake Surf Group, headed by Steve, has again been granted a spot on the 2014 World Series of Wake Surfing Tour.
Wake surfing is still a young, but rapidly growing sport that is taking the world by storm. Associations and tournaments are growing year over year, as evidenced by the World Series 2014 lineup that includes Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Thailand, several US stops, and the premier Canadian event – the Canadian Wake Surf Nationals on Calabogie Lake, Ontario. The World Series events are important qualifiers that will culminate at the 2014 World Wake Surfing Championship being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, boasting a purse of $100,000 cash and prizes.
